There is a number of wonderful sandy beaches either within walking distance or a short drive from Abbott's. So if you want to picnic, bring the children to play in the sand or swim, or you just want to walk the beach and savor the sounds of the waves and the beauty of the scenery, you will find one to suit

Eagle Rock equestrian center, established in 1995, is close to Caherdaniel village, and no more than 10 minutes drive from Abbott's. With ponies to suit all ages and competencies, from absolute beginner to experienced riders, you are sure to have fun.

20 minutes drive from Abbott's is the world famous Waterville Links course, where non members can pay green fees for a round. There is also a new course opened in Waterville, also a links course so the avid golfer is spoiled for choice.If you wish to venture a little further to Kenmare, you will find a couple of excellent courses, including the famous Kenmare Golf Club. Best booking your game in advance, and don't forget to barter for the green fee price. There are good deals to be had if you are prepared to heckle!!

There is a scuba diving center, in Caherdaniel village. They can take groups, or individuals, and they organise dives from various locations in the area.
